On April 5, 2017, on my Yosemite desktop, adobeupdatedaemon wrote some 77GB of log files. Fix was killing adobeupdatedaemon and then using sudo -s to obtain a root shell. Then I navigated to /private/var/root/Library/Logs/ and deleted files. I had to use cp /dev/null FILENAME to delete one of these files.
